Setting up a Forum RP for OVA
Greetings and Salutations all!
I found OVA while looking, in nostalgia, for a game like BESM, and I've been delighted to own the game ever since. Can't wait for some non-Kickstarter hardcopies to come out!
Anyways, I'm thinking of setting up a game to be run via online Forum. I'm looking for regular posters. My plan is to run about three-four games at once - Forum RP is a slower pace, so it helps to have a few different RPs going to keep interest high.
I want to have a mash-up Anime game, a giant mecha drama, a magical girl RP, a horror high school, and an anime-supers (think western supers as if done by anime artists and writers, not sentai).
Looking for interested players, and a suggestion or two on some forum software and hosts. Worse comes to worse, I can use Gaia Online account as well (it's a stable website, if nothing else).
On a related note, has there ever been any consideration to hosting RP here?

Re: Setting up a Forum RP for OVA
Some people talked of it once but nothing came of it. I would be interested in an RPG here.

Might be interesting if this forum had a section for organizing and running play-by-post campaigns.

Publishing RP on here would be a lot of fun, and an easy place to go to. Is Clay okay with setting up RP on here?
Re: Setting up a Forum RP for OVA
rpol.net, rpggeek and iwaku are some recomendations of RP focused sites I know. Never played at rpggeek, however.

Re: Setting up a Forum RP for OVA
Well, rather than jump to a site I know nothing about (like a few suggested) I'm going to suggest RP here. Unless a Mod doesn't desire this, which would of course be a reasonable call.
Who's interested?

I am interested. What kind of game we looking at?
Re: Setting up a Forum RP for OVA
The topic has come up before. If people really would like a place on-site to do their role-playing, I don’t see why not.
Would you want it to be a public forum, or some sub-section you need permission for? If I were just to take a stab at it, I would probably make it a public sub-section of this Game and Player Bulletin forum. (Or maybe just rename it altogether. The Game and Player Bulletin has never really achieved its purpose well.)

But how we'll roll dice? Using Rolz.org?

Re: Setting up a Forum RP for OVA
I'd go public forum for the RP Section.
As for rolls I suggest invisible castle. It lets anyone do a dice roll then post a link to that dice roll. So we do not have to be online at the same time.

The dice roller page can be found here and you do not need to register.

I'd also be interested in a forum-based game, if it's not already overcrowded.
Does driving a tank count as a martial art? Does being a tank count as a martial art?

I would also be interested...
Re: Setting up a Forum RP for OVA
Okay, I created a sub-forum here for everyone to play in at their leisure! I haven’t done a lot of Play-By-Post gaming, so let me know if there’s anything else I can do to make it a good place to host games.

Well an onsite dice roller would be nice. But that could be asking too much.

Well this was a bust.
